2025 Summer Intensive Programs

In just 8 days experience the depth and breadth of a two-week program in a streamlined format for maximum impact, culminating in the Arias Unbound performance.
What You’ll Experience:
Holistic Training: Performance Techniques, Acting, Alexander Technique, Embodied Expression, Yoga, and more.
Artist Development: Social Media, Branding, Career Planning, and Cross-Over Skills.
Arias Unbound Showcase: A playful, low-pressure space to explore and connect.
A Supportive Community: Grow alongside expert teachers in small class sizes with a nonjudgmental approach.

Ann Baltz, Founder & Educator

She is a leading performance educator, founder of OperaWorks™, pioneering cross-disciplinary singer training. With 2,000+ alumni. Dr. Bethany Grace Mamola

Dr. Bethany Grace Mamola helps vocalists navigate the competitive academic job market, guiding them in crafting compelling CVs, teaching philosophies, and application materials. As Director of Vocal Studies at Emory University, she brings firsthand insight into university hiring. Also an active performer and mentor, she prepares singers to excel in interviews, job talks, and salary negotiations for a sustainable tenure-track career.

Chun-Wei Kang, Vocal Coach

Chun-Wei Kang helps singers unlock their full potential with expert coaching, insight, and precision. As a collaborative pianist and music director on the Opera Theatre Artistic Staff at Manhattan School of Music, she has worked with top artists and led opera workshops worldwide. Whether in rehearsal or on stage, her artistry and guidance empower performers to deliver their best every time.

Chun-Wei Kang, Vocal Coach

Douglas Sumi is a pianist and vocal coach recognized for his bold musical collaborations that assist singers in achieving clarity and depth in their performances. With experience at LA Opera, UCLA, and Boston University, he focuses on language, phrasing, and musical storytelling. Laura Parker, Alexander

Laura Parker is a dynamic improv artist and AmSAT-certified Alexander Technique expert who helps performers move, sing, and act with greater ease and authenticity. She has led masterclasses nationwide, blending AT, improv, and vocal technique to unlock expressive freedom. Her energy and insight inspire artists to perform with confidence, connection, and joy. Lori Teague, Movement

Lori Teague helps performers unlock deeper artistic expression through movement. A choreographer and somatics expert, she specializes in improvisation, adaptability, and embodied storytelling—inviting play, kinesthetic listening, and choice. Shane Schag

Shane Schag helps singers refine their artistry, preparing them for the real demands of the stage. As a collaborative pianist, vocal coach, and music director, he has worked with Carnegie Hall, Gotham Chamber Opera, and international opera festivals. Paula S. Thomson, Ph.D.

Paula Thomson, PsyD, helps performers unlock freedom in both body and mind. A psychologist, movement coach, and former professional dancer, she has choreographed for the Canadian Opera Company and the Stratford Festival. As Co-Director of the Performance Psychophysiology Lab at CSUN, she researches creativity, trauma, and resilience and guides artists to perform with confidence, flow, and authenticity.
